Each year, Dr. Middaugh travels to the mountains of Panama, near the Costa Rican border, to provide eye examinations and eyeglasses to the residents of Chiriqui Provence. Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Myers, and Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral send medical teams to the region each January. Joining Dr. Middaugh will be a Pediatrician, Nurse Midwife, Primary Care Physician, Doctor of Audiology, and nurses, as well as others who jump right in and provide for the healthcare of the local Panamanians.

We bring eyeglasses and medications each year. The cost for the medications is funded by local private donations. For every $100 raised, we can purchase $1000 of medications! In addition, we collect eyeglasses to take with us in the hope of helping the residents see again. If you would like to donate your old eyeglasses, we would greatly appreciate it.
